Cyprus FM to attend informal Foreign Affairs Council on Friday
Cyprus Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides will fly on Friday to Brussels, to attend the informal Foreign Affairs Council meeting that will take place on January 10.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, EU Foreign Policy and Security Policy High Representative Josep Borrell has called for the meeting which aims to the update and exchange of views on the latest developments in the Middle East region and to look into ways that the EU will contribute to the de-escalation of the tension.
Discussions are expected to focus, among others, on the developments in Iran and Iraq as well as to the situation in Libya, in the presence of the UN Special Envoy for the country, Ghassan Salamé.
