Cyprus President to attend “Friends of Cohesion” Summit in Lisbon this Saturday

President of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, will travel to Lisbon to attend this Saturday, February 1, the Informal Summit of the group called the “Friends of Cohesion”, at the invitation of Portuguese President Antonio Costa.

As CNA learns, President Anastasiades will be among the 17 heads of state or government or their representatives taking part in the gathering of member states who are against slashing cohesion funds in the EU’s Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) for 2021-2027.

Croatian News Agency HINA notes that the meeting in Portugal follows a gathering in Prague, on November 5, 2019, aiming to define the group’s next steps in defending the cohesion and agricultural policies in the next MFF.
