The instrument of ratification and the Multilateral Convention itself for the implementation of measures related to tax agreements for the prevention of tax base erosion and profit shifting (Multilateral Instrument) were published yesterday in the Official Gazette of the Republic.
The aim of the Multilateral Convention, which in the case of Cyprus will enter into force on 1 May 2020, is to automatically and expeditiously modify existing bilateral conventions for the avoidance of double taxation, said an announcement issued by the Ministry of Finance.
The instrument of ratification was signed on behalf of the Republic by Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides.
