Iraq grateful over Cyprus’ support to combat ISIS, Ambassador says
Iraq expresses gratitude to the government and people of the Republic of Cyprus for their support in the combat against ISIS, as well as for the hospitality offered to a number of Iraqi refugees fleeing from terrorism, said the Ambassador of Iraq, stationed in Athens, Shorsh Khalid Said.
President of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, received the credentials of the new Iraqi Ambassador during a formal ceremony held at the Presidential Palace, on Thursday.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Ambassador said that he will devote his efforts in developing the relationships between the two countries on all aspects of diplomatic, political, as well as economic and cultural field, in consideration of international law, legitimacy and mutual respect.
