Russia calls for determination and political will to solve the Cyprus problem

The Russian Federation is convinced that the difficulties, standing in the way of long-expected reunification of Cyprus, can be overcome if there is necessary determination and political will, said Russian Ambassador to Cyprus Stanislav Osadchiy on the extension of UNFICYP`s mandate.
 
Russia, he said in a Facebook post, “is ready to continue to actively support the international efforts to resolve the Cyprus issue”.
 
In his post, Osadchiy said the Russian Federation supported the UN Security Council Resolution 2506 on the extension of the mandate of the UN Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP).
