Turkey replaced international law with the “law of the jungle”, Defence Minister says
Turkey replaced international law with the “law of the jungle” and “gunboat diplomacy” undermining the stability of the broader Eastern Mediterranean, Minister of Defence Savvas Angelides said on Sunday. He added that Turkey continues its unlawful actions in the exclusive economic zone of the Republic of Cyprus, fully disregarding all notions of law and geography.
Addressing a memorial service, the Minister said that Nicosia continues to aim at reaching a viable settlement, that will terminate Turkish occupation and the policy of illegal settlements, while putting an end to the anachronistic system of guarantees, intervention rights and the presence of foreign troops.
