Cyprus President and EU leaders say they want to coordinate action against COVID-19
The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, attended on Tuesday evening an extraordinary European Council meeting, through teleconference, during which the leaders of the member states continued their discussion on how to address the new coronavirus (COVID-19). According to a written statement by Government Spokesman Kyriacos Koushos, the leaders expressed their joint will to coordinate action and display solidarity.
According to Koushos, at the teleconference, the second in a row that is being held at the initiative of European Council President Charles Michel, participants discussed the situation in Europe, the measures that are in place in each member state and the needs arising as COVID-19 continues to spread.
