Government denies it intends to ban movement of people, urges people to remain calm
The government categorically denies that it intends to impose a ban on the movement of citizens or to fully suspend operations of businesses, offices or supermarkets or food shops, Government Spokesman Kyriacos Koushos has said, urging at the same time people to remain calm.
"The government categorically denies that it intends to impose a ban on the movement of citizens, or a full suspension of operations of businesses, offices and even more so of supermarkets and food shops," Koushos says in a written statement.
Under the circumstances that they have evaluated today, he adds, "it is not imperative nor by any way necessary to take such drastic measures.
