There are currently no plans to close the crossing points at Pergamos, a spokesperson of the British Bases in Cyprus has told CNA, following the decision of the Turkish Cypriot puppet regime to close two crossing points, one of which in Strovilia, in the area of the Eastern British Bases at Dhekelia.
Moreover the spokesperson noted that the authorities of the British Bases are working closely with the Republic of Cyprus authorities to limit the threat of COVID-19 and anyone entering at Pergamos from the northern Turkish occupied areas or flying into RAF Akrotiri are screened in line with Republic of Cyprus policy.
The SBA spokesperson said that after confirmation that the Turkish side will close the crossing point at Strovilia at 6pm "the Sovereign Base Areas Administration can confirm there are currently no plans to close the crossing point at Pergamos.
