Cyprus becomes a member of the Media Freedom Coalition

Cyprus Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides signed on April 30 the Global Pledge on Media Freedom, making Cyprus a member of the Media Freedom Coalition.

On World Press Freedom Day 2020 we reaffirm our commitment to continue to support all international efforts aimed at protecting and promoting freedom of opinion and expression, says the Foreign Ministry in a message posted on Twitter.

The Media Freedom Coalition was formed in July 2019 at the Global Conference for Media Freedom and is a partnership of countries working together to advocate for media freedom and safety of journalists and hold to account those who harm journalists for doing their job.
