EU – Western Balkans cooperation has proven beneficial and should continue, Cyprus President says (Repeat)
Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades has said that the common action between the EU and the Western Balkans to deal with COVID-19 challenges has been absolutely beneficial and effective, noting that it should continue during the period of recovery from the pandemic.
President Anastasiades was addressing an EU – Western Balkans Summit on Wednesday evening which took place via teleconference, Government Spokeperson Kyriacos Koushos has said in a written statement.
The Summit’s aims, he notes, are among other things to showcase the EU’s interest and support for the Western Balkan region, the expression of solidarity in dealing with the pandemic as well as to reconfirm their European prospects and to encourage reforms in the region.
