More COVID-19 tests at schools as of next week
Mobile units will continue the COVID-19 tests at schools next week. The sample tests run for both teachers , other school staff and students will cover more schools island wide, the Education Ministry announced on Saturday.
Last Friday tests were done at six High Schools , four in Nicosia, one in Larnaka and one in Famagusta. On Monday students, teachers and other staff will be tested at five High Schools and Technical Schools, namely three High Schools in Nicosia, two in Limassol, one in Famagusta and one Technical School in Larnaka. Tests will also be run for Gymnasiums and Primary schools which are set to reopen May 21. Announcements will be made at all schools in the framework of the sample testing.
Moreover a supportive group operates at the Ministry to assist school principals to apply the protocol for the reopening of schools.
