President Anastasiades and Akinci arrive at understanding to gradually reopen crossing points, starting June 8

President of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades conveyed to the Turkish Cypriot leader, Mustafa Akinci, the decision to gradually reopen crossing points, while the two men arrived at a mutual understanding to allow initially passage at crossing points for motor vehicles, starting on June 8.
 
According to a written statement by Government Spokesman Kyriacos Koushos, President Anastasiades spoke on Thursday on the phone with Akinci, at his own initiative and conveyed to the Turkish Cypriot leader a relevant decision to gradually lift restrictions in movement through crossing points.
 
The two men exchanged views and arrived at a mutual understanding to allow passage from crossing points for motor vehicles initially, starting on June 8.
