The Republic of Cyprus contributes to efforts to extinguish a huge fire raging in the occupied areas of Cyprus, Government Spokesman, Kyriakos Koushos has told the Cyprus News Agency (CNA).
Koushos said that the assistance was given at the request of Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci. He went on to say that the fire-fighting aircraft of the Forest Department joined efforts to extinguish the fire early in the afternoon and continues to do so while the helicopter of the Research and Rescue Centre of the Republic was expected to join efforts.
