Top UN official in Cyprus salutes 26 UN police officers ahead of International Peacekeepers Day
The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Cyprus and Head of UNFICYP, Elizabeth Spehar, saluted the contribution of 26 members of the United Nations Police in Cyprus, during a Medal Presentation ceremony held on the occasion of International Peacekeepers Day.
According to UNFICYP, Spehar presided over the ceremony, on 27 May, at the UN Protected Area within the buffer zone. The event saw 26 UNPOL officers from 12 contingents awarded medals in the service of peace.
