Total assets of investment funds drop 8.7% in the first quarter of the year


Total assets of investment funds declined by 8.7% in the first quarter of 2020, compared to the previous quarter, according to data released Friday by the Central Bank of Cyprus.

At the same time the number of investment funds increased from 178 in December 2019 to 189 in March 2020, continuing the upward trend of the last twelve quarters. Their total assets declined substantially, by approximately 8.7%, to €5,563.9 million in March 2020, compared with €6,093.6 million in December 2019.

At the end of March 2019, the total number of investment funds was 155 and their total assets €5.254,9 million.
