Cyprus 2019 price level indices for consumer goods and services at 90% of EU average

In 2019, the year before COVID-19 containment measures began to be widely introduced by EU Member States, price levels for consumer goods and services differed widely in the European Union of 27 Member States (EU), according to data published by Eurostat, the statistical office of the EU. Cyprus' price level indices were at 90%of the EU average.

In Cyprus, the price level indices for consumer goods and services in 2019 stood at 90% in total of the EU average (EU=100), 106% for food & non alcoholic beverages, 94% for alcoholic beverages & tobacco, 96% for clothing, 85% for prersonal transport equipment, 107% for consumer electronics and 94% for restaurants & hotels.
