Cyprus Meteorology Department issues extreme high temperature warning

Cyprus’ Meteorology Department has issued an extreme high temperature warning for Sunday.

In a press release the Meteorology Department says the yellow level warning is valid from 1100 hours local time (0900 GMT) until 1700 hours local time (1400 GMT) on Sunday.

“The inland maximum temperature is expected to be around 40 degrees Celsius,” it adds.

"Some health risks amongst vulnerable people e.g. the elderly and very young are possible," it warns.
