Employment in the Broad Public Sector increased by 1.527 persons (2,3%) in first quarter of 2020
Total employment in the Broad Public Sector in the 1st quarter of 2020 reached 69.263 persons. The employment in General Government was 63.695 and in the Publicly Owned Enterprises and Companies 5.568 persons, according to figures released on Monday by the Cyprus Statistical Service.
In General Government, which consists of the Government, Non-Profit Organisations and Local Authorities, total employment reached 52.560,7.082 and 4.053 persons respectively.
The employment in the Broad Public Sector increased by 1.527 persons (2,3%) compared to the same quarter of 2019. The employment in Central Government increased by 1.364 persons (2,3%), in Publicly Owned Enterprises and Companies by 147 persons (2,7%) and in Local Authorities by 16 persons (0,4%).
