There is room for optimism about an EEZ agreement with Egypt, Greek Ambassador tells CNA [VIDEO]

The delimitation of the exclusive economic zone (EEZ) between Greece and Egypt is a complex procedure, involving many political and legal parameters, there is, however, room for optimism for an agreement between the two sides, says Theocharis Lalacos, the Ambassador of Greece to Cyprus. He talks about “a necessary sequence of actions” as Greece proceeds to determine its maritime boundaries with neighbouring countries and notes that after a relevant agreement with Rome, it is now time to do the same with Egypt.

In an interview with the Cyprus News Agency, Ambassador Lalacos refers to the forthcoming visit of Greek Foreign Minister, Nikos Dendias, to Cairo for relevant discussions and notes that a possible agreement between the two countries would also give a “clear and lawful reply” to the illegal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) reached last November between Turkey and Li
