Any prospects for resumption of Cyprus talks would require termination of Turkish provocations, Minister says

Any prospects for the resumption of UN-led talks for a settlement to the Cyprus problem would require the termination of the Turkish provocative violations of the Republic of Cyprus sovereign rights in its Exclusive Economic Zone and territorial waters, Cyprus Minister of Justice and Public Order Emily Yiolitis has said.
 
Addressing on Sunday the annual memorial service for the victims of the 1974 coup against the then Cyprus President, Archbishop Makarios, Yiolitis said that the Turkish violations are contrary to the international law and the UN Convention on the Law of Sea (UNCLOS), and constitute an additional broader threat in the sensitive region of the Eastern Mediterranean.
