Cypriot Foreign Minister expresses concern over recent clashes on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border

Cypriot Foreign Affairs Minister Nikos Christodoulides expressed his concern over recent clashes on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border with the use of heavy weapons, during a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, on his initiative.
 
According to a statement issued by the Foreign Affairs Ministry, during the conversation Christodoulides was briefed by his Armenian counterpart about the recent clashes on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border with the use of heavy weapons, which resulted in the loss of human lives, as well as the wounding of soldiers from both sides.
 
Christodoulides expressed to Mnatsakanyan his concern about this development, condemned the violation of the ceasefire by Azerbaijan and called on all the parties to show restraint, in order to de-escalate the tension in the region.
