EU must be strict and decisive in its stance with Turkey, Cyprus President tells EU Commission’s President

The EU must be strict and decisive in its stance against Turkey, safeguarding the interests of the EU itself and its member states,  President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades told European Commission’s President Ursula von der Leyen during a telephone conversation on Friday.
 
According to a written statement from Deputy Government Spokesman Panayiotis Sentonas, "the President of the Republic briefed Von der Leyen on Ankara`s continuing illegal actions in Cyprus’ maritime zones and on the continuing provocations and violations of the sovereign rights of the Republic of Cyprus, noting that the EU must be strict and decisive in its stance against Turkey, safeguarding the interests of the EU itself and its Member States. "
