The EU should be decisive and strict over Turkish provocations, President says EU Council chief

The European Union should be decisive and strict over Turkish provocations in the Eastern Mediterranean, safeguarding both the EU interests and those of its member-states, Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades told the European Council President Charles Michel.
 
According to a written statement by Government Spokesman Kyriacos Koushos, President Anastasiades held a meeting with Michel via teleconferencing, to discuss the EU Multiannual Financial Framework and the proposed recovery plan in view of the EU Summit in July 19.
 
Koushos said that the President briefed Michel on the recent developments over Turkey’s illegal actions in Cyprus’ maritime zones “reiterating that the EU should stance towards Turkey should be strict and decisive, safeguarding both the interests of the EU and of its member-states.
