Renewal of Turkish NAVTEX, a move in the wrong direction, Foreign Minister says

Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides held a long telephone conversation on Monday with his Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias, with whom he discussed the renewal of the illegal Turkish NAVTEX until the 27th of August. This move, Christodoulides said, is in the wrong direction.

"Definitely, this is not a positive development. It is a development that demonstrates intentions,"  Christodoulides said after a meeting he held in his office with President of the EDEK Social Democratic Party, Marinos Sizopoulos.

Christodoulides held this morning a long telephone conversation with the Greek Foreign Minister due to the illegal renewal of the Turkish NAVTEX and the fact that the German Foreign Minister will visit Greece tomorrow and then Turkey in view of Berlin`s initiative to de-escalate the tensions.
