MED7 leaders discuss Turkish provocations in Eastern Mediterranean

The leaders of the seven Mediterranean EU member states, who meet on Thursday in Corsica, will discuss, inter alia, Turkish provocations in the Eastern Meditteranean and are expected to issue a Joint Declaration after their Summit.

The 7th MED7 Summit will be attended by Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades and the leaders of France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece and Malta.

Deputy Government Spokesman Panayiotis Sentonas said on Wednesday that Anastasiades will inform  the leaders of the other six countries about the ongoing Turkish activities in the maritime zones of the Republic of Cyprus, Turkish threats to settle the fenced-off city of Famagusta and the latest developments in the Cyprus problem, as well as about his initiatives for the resumption of negotiations for a Cyprus settlement.
