No imposed recipes and artificial deadlines for a Cyprus settlement, Russian FM stresses [VIDEO]
Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov stressed on Tuesday that nobody should impose any recipes on the Cypriot sides and especially that nobody should establish artificial deadlines as regards the settlement of the Cyprus problem.
Lavrov, who was speaking during a meeting he had at the Russian Embassy in Nicosia with political party leaders, before leaving Cyprus after having paid the island an official visit, also underlined that Russia strongly supports a Cyprus settlement based on the UN Security Council resolutions.
“It would be important for us to have your assessments of what is going on around you especially with the negotiations on the resolution of the Cyprus issue,” he said addressing the political party leaders at the beginning of their meeting, in the presence of the media.
