Oruc Reis withdrawal is a move towards the right direction but Turkey still violates Cyprus' EEZ, FM tells CNA

Cyprus Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides has told the Cyprus News Agency that the fact that Turkish research vessel Oruc Reis has withdrawn from the Eastern Mediterranean returning back to Turkey and the Turkish illegal NAVTEX has not been renewed is a step towards the right direction noting that however Turkey still contunues its violations in Cyprus` Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

Invited to comment on the latest development regarding Oruc Reis activities, Christodoulides said that "this is a move towards the right direction",  noting at the same time that "Turkey continues to violate the Republic of Cyprus EEZ in contrast with the calls by the international community, including the EU and the US."

He went on to say that this is something for which, particularly in the case of the EU, there is a relevant decision as to how the Union should react.
