UNSG asks for CBMs and avoidance of unilateral actions that could undermine negotiations for a Cyprus settlement

UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, stressed on Wednesday the importance of developing confidence building measures (CBMs) and avoiding any unilateral actions that could undermine the future success of negotiations on the Cyprus problem, stressing that he is totally committed to revitalize the political process for a Cyprus settlement.
 
Speaking during a press conference following the start of the seventy-fifth session of the United Nations General Assembly and invited by CNA to say what he expects from the two communities, Turkey and the other guarantors and possibly other key players in the area, given his remark in his latest report on Cyprus about the need for a conducive environment to resume negotiations, Guterres spoke about a consensus to move with the diplomatic initiatives on the Cyprus problem after the voting process that will take place in October in the o
