Cyprus to denounce to UN entry of Turkish Vice President in the fenced-off city of Famagusta

The entry of Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay in the fenced-off city of Famagusta, known as Varosha, will be denounced at the Security Council and the UN Secretary General, Government Spokesperson Kyriacos Koushos has said in a written statement, issued on Saturday.
 
According to the announcement, the President of the Republic and the government condemn and denounce, in the strongest and most emphatic way, the new provocative action of Turkey, to send the Vice President of the Turkish Government to the occupied areas, and in particular his entry into the fenced-off city of Famagusta.
 
"This is clearly a provocative and illegal act that violates UN Security Council resolutions.
