Erdogan's attack against Macron insults European values, Cyprus President says

Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades, has condemned the verbal attack of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan against the President of France Emmanuel Macron, describing it as unethical, as it involves "unacceptable language according to the international practice and diplomacy".

A press release issued by the Presidency said that the attack against the French President by the leader of a country which is candidate for EU membership blatantly insults the European values and principles" and that "the EU must remain united to face this new Turkish provocation ."

“Turkey continues the course of provocation against France because it dares to defend the international law and to denounce the pirate policy that Turkey is following in Cyprus, Greece, Syria, Libya, Caucasus, and generally in the Eastern Mediterranean," the press release noted.
