Minister of Defence and US Assistant Secretary for Political-Military Affairs discuss ways to enhance cooperation
Minister of Defence Charalambos Petrides and US Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs, Clarke Cooper discussed issues of bilateral interest with an emphasis on further deepening the defense cooperation between the Republic of Cyprus and the USA, in a meeting on Monday, in Nicosia.
According to a press release issued by the Defence Ministry, the two officials stressed the enhanced strategic relationship between the two countries in terms of defense and security and discussed ways to further promote these relations. They also discussed Turkey`s illegal and aggressive actions in Cyprus’ Exclusive Economic Zone and its actions regarding the fenced-off city of Famagusta, as destabilizing factors in the region.
