Yavuz’ withdrawal from EEZ positive, Nicosia says and continues to follow developments
The withdrawal of a Turkish ship conducting illegal drilling activities within Cyprus’ exclusive economic zone (EEZ) is seen by Nicosia as a positive development, the Cyprus government, however, will continue to follow developments in order to be able to better evaluate the situation.
Asked to comment on reports about the withdrawal of “Yavuz” from the EEZ of Cyprus, in the aftermath of last week’s European Council decisions, Government Spokesman Kyriacos Koushos told CNA that this is a positive development, contributing to the creation of a positive climate.
We don’t know yet if the withdrawal is permanent, Koushos went on.
