UNFICYP in contact with both sides on the issue of crossing points, Siddique tells CNA

The UN peacekeeping force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) is in constant contact with both sides in Cyprus on the issue of crossing points that have been temporarily closed, UNFICYP spokesperson Aleem Siddique had told CNA.

He also noted that no meeting has been scheduled so far between the UN Secretary General`s Special Representaive in Cyprus and Head UNFICYP Elizabeth Spehar and Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades or with the Turkish Cypriot leader, Mustafa Akinci, to discuss this issue.

The "authorities" of the Turkish Cypriot puppet regime decided on Thursday to close the crossing points at Limnitis and Strovilia until March 22.
