Cyprus FM discusses Turkey’s illegal drilling activities, COVID-19 pandemic with French Minister of State

Turkey’s illegal drilling activities in Cyprus’ exclusive economic zone (EEZ) and coordination on the COVID-19 pandemic were among the issues discussed during a telephone conversation between the Foreign Minister of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, and French Minister of State for European Affairs, Amélie de Montchalin.
 
According to a message posted on the Foreign Ministry’s twitter account, the two sides had a timely exchange of views on issues of common interest, discussing, among others, Turkey’s illegal drilling activities in Cyprus’ EEZ, COVID-19 coordination, the General Affairs Council and the EU agenda, including Brexit.
 
“Indeed, an important opportunity to share experience on COVID19, discuss EU priorities and reaffirm the support of France to the sovereignty of Cyprus” wrote the Ambassador of France to Cyprus, Isabelle Dumont, on her twitter accoun
