Cyprus meteorology department issues yellow warning for storms
Cyprus` meteorology department has issued a yellow warning for storms on Saturday between noon and 1800 hours local time (1500 GMT).
Storms are projected to be strong and to be accompanied by hail and it is very likely to affect mountainous areas, inland and the southeastern and eastern coastal areas of the island.
Rainfall is likely to be over 35 mm per hour.
The public is urged to take precautionary measures in exposed areas such as mountains, forests and valleys. It is also noted that problems are likely to occur in activities outdoors.
