Cabinet to decide on reopening of airports on Friday

The Council of Ministers is expected to take decisions on Friday regarding the reopening of airports and hotels in Cyprus, during a session under the President of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, that will give the “green light” to a relevant action plan. The Cabinet meeting is scheduled to start at 11.45am (local time), at the Presidential Palace.
 
Among others, the government is expected to announce the date airports will resume their operation, which according to Dr. Petros Karayiannis, a Professor of Microbiology/Molecular Virology at the University of Nicosia Medical School and member of the Ministry of Health Scientific Advisory Committee, is expected “sometime within June.”
 
Speaking on Thursday to CNA, Karayiannis said that the Ministry of Health’s Epidemiological Surveillance Unit is evaluating a list of 20 countries that could be allowed to send tourist
