Police report 117 people for violations of Covid-19 containment measures
Cyprus Police reported 117 people for violating containment measures aiming to curb the spread of the Covid-19 outbreak.
The Police carried out a total of 3,336 checks throughout Cyprus in the last twelve hours ending on 06:00 local time Sunday.
Concerning shops, the Police made 921 island-wide checks with no violation reported.
On movement controls, the Police carried out 964 checks in the district of Nicosia reporting 39 violations, 980 in Limassol with 32 violations, 357 in Larnaca reporting 18 people, 172 in Pafos reporting 8 violations, 412 in Famagusta with 13 violations and 239 checks in the Morphou region reporting no violation.
Furthermore, the Road Traffic Department carried out 182 (mainly in highways) reporting 7 violations, while the Police Rapid Response Unit (MMAD) carried out 30 checks with no violation.
