Cyprus FM and EU High Representative discuss next steps for de-escalation in Cyprus' EEZ

Cyprus Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides and EU High Representative Josep Borrell discussed on Wednesday afternoon during a telephone conversation they had the next steps aiming at the de-escalation of the situation in Cyprus’ Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) due to Turkey’ provocative activities.

The Cyprus News Agency (CNA) has learned that Christodoulides and Borrell continued discussions that took place during the recent EU Foreign Affairs Council and about the developments in the Eastern Mediterranean as they unfold due to the ongoing Turkish provocations in Cyprus’ EEZ.

Christodoulides and Borrell also discussed about the next steps, and more specifically how there can be de-escalation of the situation with the termination of Turkish illegal activities.
