Conservative MPs urge UK Foreign Secretary to press the case with Turkey for justice in Cyprus

Seven Conservative MPs, members of the ‘Conservative Friends of Cyprus’, have written to UK Foreign Secretary urging him to give “a high priority” to support Cypriots in their continuing efforts to reach agreement on a united future for their island.

MPs Theresa Villiers, Sir Roger Gale, Bob Blackman, Caroline Nokes, Sheryll Murray, Martin Vickers and Mark Menzies have penned the letter to Dominic Raab on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the foundation of the Republic of Cyprus, stressing “the long history and close ties between Cyprus and the UK”.

They note that as Conservative Friends of Cyprus they have all strongly supported the cause of a negotiated settlement that will see all Cypriots reunited in a free and democratic Cyprus.
