Cyprus marks 60th anniversary of Independence with parade in the capital
Today is a day of pride, a day to remember all those who lost their lives and those who are still missing but also an opportunity to draw strength from our heroes and all those who sacrificed their lives for us, said the Minister of Defense, Charalambos Petrides.
In statements to the press following a military parade, in Nicosia, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Cyprus Independence Day, Petrides also said that Greece`s presence today communicates messages of unity. Apart from officials, the public was not allowed to attend because of the pandemic.
