Cyprus President briefs European Council President on Turkey's violations in Famagusta
President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades held on Wednesday a telephone conversation with President of the European Council Charles Michel.
According to a written statement by Deputy Government Spokesman Panayiotis Sentonas, during their telephone conversation, President Anastasiades briefed the President of the European Council at length on yesterday`s illegal actions by Turkey in Famagusta that violate UN resolutions and UN Security Council decisions.
President Anastasiades also briefed Michel on the actions taken by the Republic of Cyprus in relation to the illegal actions of Turkey and stressed the need for Ankara`s compliance with the relevant UN resolutions.
