EC will examine substantive measures against Turkey if there is no compliance, President says

Cyprus President has said that Turkish threats not only against the Republic of Cyprus and the sovereign rights of Greece, but France as well have increased and that if Turkey does not comply until the next European Council then substantive measures will be examined against her.

President Anastasiades was invited to comment on the embargo on French products by Turkey and the insults Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has made against the President of France Emmanuel Macron.

"As you are well aware, the recent European Council of October 2nd adopted a series of conclusions which clearly say that if Turkey does not comply until the European Council that will take place in December then substantive measures will be examined that have a cost for her" Anastasiades noted.
