Turkish decision on Varosha is “totally unacceptable”, Cyprus President says
President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades said that a decision by the Turkish side to proceed with the opening of the coast line of Varosha, the fenced-off part of Turkish-occupied Famagusta, was “totally unacceptable.”
In statements at the President Palace, after a session of the National Council that discussed the matter, President Anastasiades said that the announcement issued by the National Council conveys everyone’s position in favor of condemning today`s decisions by Turkey, in violation of UN resolutions and Security Council decisions.
“The situation is considered as totally unacceptable,” the President underlined.
