Limassol and Paphos districts are the main sources of COVID-cases, President says as further measures are taken

Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades said on Wednesday that the Council of Ministers decided to take further measures to curb the coronavirus spread, noting that it is clear the districts of Limassol and Paphos are the main sources of the infections.

In a televised message, Anastasiades said that "without ignoring the high number of cases in the other districts as well, after a meeting with the epidemiological team and in view of the visible danger of an uncontrolled outbreak of the pandemic, the Council of Ministers decided to take further measures."

He noted that from the 68 individuals who are currently treated in hospitals, 49 come from the districts of Limassol and Paphos, a percentage of 72%

He also said that since October 28 there have been 2644 new cases and eight deaths.
