UK Foreign Secretary assures Anastasiades of Britain's intention to contribute to a Cyprus settlement


UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab assured Cyprus President, Nicos Anastasiades of his country`s intention to positively contribute to the convening of an informal five-party conference, which the UN Secretary-General intends to convene, as well as during the continuation of the talks, but also towards the achievement of a Cyprus settlement, based on what has already been agreed.

Government Spokesman, Kyriakos Koushos, said in a written statement that Anastasiades had a telephone conversation with Raab on Wednesday, during which the President noted that the illegal activities of Turkey both in the fenced-off city of Famagusta and in the Republic of Cyprus Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) do not contribute to the creation of a positive and constructive climate for the resumption of the talks.
