Spehar reiterates UN commitment to resolutions in relation to Varosha during meeting with Famagusta Municipality

The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Cyprus and Head of UNFICYP, Elizabeth Spehar, reiterated on Wednesday UN commitment to the resolutions on Varosha, during a meeting with a delegation from Famagusta Municipality.
 
The delegation had the chance to discuss with Spehar recent developments regarding Famagusta, after the decision of the Turkish side to open part of the beachfront in Varosha, the fenced off part of Famagusta, as well as the role of the United Nations, an announcement by Famagusta Municipality says.
 
Spehar briefed the delegation that her office continues to monitor closely developments and keeps the Security Council informed, the announcement adds.
